Spiritual Warfare

Do you struggle with your faith? Do you look at other Christians and think "I wish I was more like that person?" Do you think your faith is inadequate, that you are doing something wrong? If these questions are similar to the thoughts and doubts that plague you, you are experiencing spiritual warfare.
I am in my fifties, and I have been a Christian since I was in my mid-twenties, but despite the years I spent going to different churches, I don't remember a pastor teaching about or a lesson truly focused on spiritual warfare. I think this is an area in which churches, today especially, fall short. When we commit our lives to Jesus, the devil begins attacking us right away. Pastors don't want to talk about that, because they don't want to scare us away! But they are doing a disservice, because we don't develop the depth and maturity in our walk that we need if we are going to be able to withstand the attacks of Satan.
Did you know that Satan doesn't want to lose even one soul? You might think to yourself, "Why would Satan come after me? I'm not even doing anything powerful for the kingdom of God. I'm not even sure of my own faith. I'm just minding my own business." Whatever you find yourself thinking when I tell you that Satan is fighting for your soul, unless of course you immediately believe that statement, don't discount the tactics of the father of all liars. Satan will come at you boldly, but also in very subtle ways, through negative self-talk, wavering moments of faith, and even through the voices of those around you, to convince you that your aren't worthy of the kingdom of God. Satan WANTS you to fall away.
Put on the full armor of God daily (Ephesians 6:10-18) so that Satan cannot get to you. Don't let him lie to you about how much God loves you. Jesus already did the work for us. There is not a standard that we have to live up to, we just have to believe and follow, and along the way God will use us to glorify His kingdom. Satan has already lost the war, but don't let him win the battle for you.
